SOHU.com and Warner Music Bring Internet and
Music Industry Together in Chinese Market
BEIJING, CHINA, September 5, 2000 - SOHU.com (Nasdaq: SOHU),
a leading Chinese Internet portal, today announced its collaboration with Warner
Music China, a subsidiary of Warner Music Group, one of the largest record
companies in the world, to organize a national concert tour on university
campuses in ten major cities in China. SOHU.com is the first Internet portal in
China to enter into strategic cooperation with Warner Music China in the fast
growing domestic entertainment market.
The campus concerts will be held between September 26th and December 1st at
ten China's leading universities in the cities of Beijing, Guangzhou, Shanghai,
Hangzhou, Nanjing, Wuhan, Changsha, Chengdu, Xi'an and Jinan. The tour will kick
off at Beijing University in the presence of Mr. Richard D. Parsons, president
of Time Warner Group and Dr. Charles Zhang, president and CEO of SOHU.com.
The national campus concert tour will feature performances by the country's
most popular bands and pop singers. SOHU.com will design a special website
offering music fans online live coverage of the concerts as well as feature
stories and photo reportage. Each of the ten concerts will be broadcast on local
cable television stations.
