Mr. Victor Koo, SOHU's previous CFO and Senior Vice President, has been re-positioned as the company's Senior Vice President in Corporate Business Development, concentrating on the company strategic management.

Mr. Gurnee will be responsible for working with Dr. Charles Zhang, SOHU's President and CEO in further developing the company's financial infrastructure and strengths. "Mr. Gurney comes with an impressive track record in the financial area, and specifically in hi-tech listings," said Charles Zhang. "He will be an enormous asset in developing and implementing our financial management strategies."

Since 1995, Mr. Gurnee has been with Chartered Semiconductor, serving most recently as Vice-President, Business Development, based in Milpitas, California. In this capacity, he led Chartered's just-concluded worldwide IPO process, on both the Stock Exchange of Singapore (SES) and NASDAQ. This included playing a key role in the selection of the investment bank, diligence, prospectus drafting, Stock Exchange approvals, SES rules waivers, Singapore government approvals and road-show preparation.

Mr. Gurnee has previously held senior international financial and business development positions with major companies including Schlumberger in Paris, as well as Sedco Forex Asia & Middle East and Fairchild Semiconductor, in Singapore.
