SOHU.com launches new online community features

Beijing, July 17, 2000 - Chinese Internet portal SOHU.com has officially launched five new community products and services on its web site. SOHU.com now offers an upgraded ICQ, Free Home Page, Calendar, Bookmark and Address Book features to expand community offerings and increase interactivity among users.

SOHU ICQ, or SOQ in short, is a newly designed, proprietary version of Internet Messenger which enables users to personalize and customize their ICQ. With SOQ, users can group their chatting partners, design customized ICQ interfaces, conduct net meetings, send instant messages, access local and international news, as well as use SOHU BBS and receive automatic upgrading functions.

SOHU Free Home Page enables Internet users to design their own homepages. Experienced users can edit and upload homepages with File Manager, Web Editor and FTP. Detailed online instructions offer less adept Net users step-by-step guidance to creating a home page.

The launch of SOHU Free Home Page also offers a platform for users to promote their own homepage. In addition, SOHU Free Home Page offers integrated functions with other products and services offered by SOHU community channel. Moreover, the new Calendar, Bookmark and Address Book features help users create their personal online organizer for managing their daily life.
