SOHU.COM Takes Interactive Business Center On The Road

Creating new markets, educating consumers and diversifying company's revenue stream

Beijing, CHINA, February 28, 2001 - Leading Internet portal SOHU.com (NASDAQ: SOHU) will engage its interactive web services to promote China's 2001 International Clothing and Accessories Fair (CICAF - http://www.chicshow.com) between March 5-12, 2001. According to an agreement with the government's fashion industry development organization, Chic, SOHU.com will provide an e-platform for online exhibitions and product promotions. CICAF is ranked amongst the top ten largest clothing trade shows in the world, and event organizers are employing SOHU.com to broadcast live fashion shows modeling events, and entertainment during the fair.

As part of a revenue sharing deal SOHU.com and Chic are jointly promoting an online registration program that allows domestic and international fashion houses to market their products through the Interactive Business Center's web-exhibitions platform. Clothing companies can invest in a multiple range of exhibition packages offering different levels of promotional value.

"SOHU.com continues to pioneer dynamic Internet solutions for businesses in China," said Charles Zhang, CEO and president of SOHU.com. "By creating a New Technology mind-share among China's new generation of entrepreneurs, SOHU.com is creating an e-business elite who are becoming more adept to exploiting the profitable potential of the Internet."

For the month of February, SOHU.com has been promoting its Interactive Business Center in China's most important financial centers Shanghai and Guangzhou. A series of live online Roadshow forums (http://luyan.sohu.com) has introduce the power of Internet broadcasting to journalists, analysts and corporate executives, while demonstrating how domestic and international companies can turn their digital dollars into profits.

Recent changes to China's Securities laws require all publicly listed companies to provide online broadcasting to investors. With over 1,100 domestically listed enterprises in China, SOHU.com's first-mover strategy is quickly taking advantage of this new opportunity to increase the company's market presence in corporate services and educate consumers.

"SOHU.com's outreach program is helping corporate decision makers to become more aware, more familiar, and more comfortable with e-business communication tools. We are connecting China's business minds to the concept of connectivity," said Sam Qian, VP of E-business at SOHU.com. "This series of online Roadshow forums is part of an ongoing campaign to create new domestic markets from which potential repeat revenues can be generated."
