Beijing, CHINA, July 9, 2001 - SOHU.COM Inc. (Nasdaq: SOHU), China's leading Internet media, communications and commerce company, today announced the promotion of Senior Vice-President, Corporate Business Development, Mr. Victor Koo, to the position of Chief Operating Officer, responsible for SOHU's sales, business development and strategy. Koo will report to Charles Zhang, CEO, President and Chairman of the Board of Directors.

Victor Koo joined SOHU in March 1999 as Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. He has served as Senior Vice President, Corporate Business Development since January 2000. Prior to joining SOHU, Koo held numerous senior positions in Richina Group, a China based venture capital firm specializing in media and entertainment industries, since 1994. Before that, Koo was with Bain & Company in San Francisco and Procter & Gamble International in Hong Kong. Koo received a Masters of Business Administration degree from Stanford University and was a Regent's Scholar at the University of California at Berkeley, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree.
