SOHU.COM CEO Joins Advisory Board on Pew Global Attitudes Project

BEIJING, CHINA, December 20, 2001 - Dr. Charles Zhang, CEO, president and chairman of China's leading online media, technology solutions, communications and commerce company SOHU.COM (NASDAQ: SOHU) has joined the International Advisory Board of the Pew Global Attitudes Survey as an inaugural member upon the invitation by former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine K. Albright, who chairs the project.

The Pew Global Opinion Leaders' Survey results and the launch of the broader Global Attitudes Project were announced on December 19 at a press roundtable in Washington. The Project will focus on public views about the rapid pace of change in modern life and globalization-related issues.

The advisory board of this Project consists of 28 business, labor, government, cultural and media leaders from around the world. Other board members include:

- Stephen M. Case, Chairman of the Board, AOL Time Warner, Inc., Washington, DC, USA
- Peter C. Goldmark, Chairman and CEO, International Herald Tribune, Paris, France

- Tadashi Yamamoto, President, Japan Center for International Exchange, New York, USA

"I am honored to accept this invitation to offer the Chinese perspective on the International Advisory Board of the Pew Global Attitudes Project. In July of this year Charles Zhang has co-lead an executive delegation of over 290 business, media, sports and entertainment leaders to support Beijing's successful 2008 Olympic bid at the 112th International Olympic Committee in Moscow. In August 2001 he participated in the Fortune Magazine Brainstorming 2001 in Aspen, Colorado.
