BEIJING, CHINA, June 12, 2006 – Sohu.com Inc. (NASDAQ:
SOHU), China's leading online media, search and mobile value-added services
company, announced today that the company has entered into a multi-year
advertising agreement with leading online retailer, Joyo.com
Under the contract, Sohu will place Joyo.com advertisements throughout
certain Sohu web sites. Customers that click through the Joyo advertisements
will be taken to the Joyo.com site. The launch date is June 20, 2006.
As Sohu has previously reported, it will discontinue its own e-commerce
platform of physical consumer goods on June 20, 2006. Additional terms
of the contract were not disclosed.
Originally launched as an online bookstore in 2000, Joyo.com now offers
customers hundreds of thousands of items in categories that include
books, music, movie, wireless and electronics, small home appliances,
toys and gifts, health and personal care, jewelry and watches, and mother/baby
products. Joyo.com also offers COD delivery to more than 180 Chinese
cities, and free shipping on qualifying orders over 99 RMB.
